Uptown Card Show Raises $5,225 for Cullen Children’s Foundation

FARGO, N.D. – SCHEELS Arena announced today that the first-ever Uptown Card Show raised $5,225 for the Cullen Children’s Foundation. The Uptown Card show hosted on August 21st & 22nd brought in more than 2,000 individuals to SCHEELS Arena over the two-day event, looking for trading cards of many different types from Pokémon, all the way to sports cards.

“The card collecting and trading community has a lot of excitement around it right now. Our Director of Food and Beverage, Jason Schenheit, has been a longtime card collector and trader. Jason and our Event Manager, Quinn Voll, came up with the idea to bring a card show to the arena, and it exceeded our expectations. Creating a new, homegrown event takes a lot of initial work and planning to build the foundation for something that can grow, and seeing the turnout and response to the first event was really exciting. It was fun to see people of all ages come out, share their passion for cards and be part of the community surrounding the hobby.” said Jayda Bennett, Director of Events at SCHEELS Arena.

ProjectGRACE is a new initiative of the Cullen Children’s Foundation designed to assist local children in need of durable medical equipment and other tangible devices that are not covered by insurance. The goal is to spread GRACE to kids who are suffering from an illness or disability who need a little something extra.
