Individuals must register online to schedule an appointment by visiting and using sponsor code “Fargo”. All blood types are needed, and space is limited. Free parking will be available at Scheels Arena in the main lot to the South of the building. Donors are to enter through the main doors on the South side. Donators are asked to arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before their scheduled appointment time and to not bring additional guests.

This drive comes as the Red Cross encourages healthy individuals to schedule and keep blood donation appointments in the weeks ahead to ensure a stable supply for patients throughout this coronavirus pandemic. All donors are required to wear a face covering or mask while at the drive, in alignment with new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention public guidance. For those that do not have a mask, one will be provided for you.

Blood donation is essential to ensuring the health of the community. As experts have emphasized, there is no certain end date in this fight against coronavirus, and the Red Cross needs the help of blood donors to maintain a sufficient blood supply for weeks to come. Each Red Cross blood drive and donation center follows the highest standards of safety and infection control, and additional precautions – including social distancing and face masks for donors and staff – have been implemented to ensure the health of Red Cross donors, employees and volunteers.

In addition to standard safety protocols, the Fargo Force, Scheels Arena, and the Red Cross will be taking numerous safety precautions to adhere to Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, such as:

  • Checking temperatures of staff, donors and volunteers before entering the drive to make sure they are healthy.
  • Providing hand sanitizer for use before the drive, as well as throughout the donation process.
  • Following social distancing between donors including entry, queuing, donation and refreshment areas.

  • Routinely disinfecting surfaces, equipment and donor-touched areas.
  • Wearing gloves and changing gloves often.
  • Using sterile collection sets and an aseptic scrub for every donation.
  • Wearing masks by staff and volunteers.

All of those who donate will receive a “swag bag” as a thank you from D-S Beverages, Anheuser-Busch and the Fargo Force.
